Watty Thompson & his Total Fire Band are coming in from the scrub to the concrete confines of Naarm Town for the first time in over a year on Saturday July 6th to celebrate the release of their brand new single “Rock & Roll”!
And what better place to launch something “Rock & Roll” than right here at the Tote Hotel with supporting sets from Fenn Wilson & the Weather and Lily Morris.
It’s going to be a dance hall singalong of the foot stomping variety with guaranteed good times, good vibes & good people.
And if you’re hoping to score ya self a ticket this is the social media post to say that you best shoot over to the old ticket buying website and grab a couple because it’s almost sold out!
And if you don’t do it soon you’re gunna be crook as because there’s only a handful remaining.
So head over now, get yourself the goods and stroll on in for the best time you’ll have outside of the Henty Field Days when Watty Thompson hits the Tote!

Does anyone remember the old linoleum floor at the Wellington Street entrance?
Well, we had to pull out a heap of old wires and put some new ones in so we found it… but then we found two other floors underneath it including a pretty beat up parquet floor.
Feel free to come in today to check what we did to the floor and some pretty amazing bands including:
This afternoon for FREE in the Front Bar the Hybernators, Trauma Boys & De Porsal from 3pm.
Remember it’s FREE so no need to worry about your hip pocket.
Then tonight upstairs we’ve got Milk Sick, Waxman & Another Rotting Co**se.
Tickets are just $10 on the door from 8pm.
In the Band Room Don’t Thank Me, S***k Me will be in launching their brand new album with Cong Josie and the True Romantix (f**k yes), Sandy Dish (double f**k yes) and, if that wasn’t enough, Richie 1250 DJing before, during and after!
That’s a lot of magnificent!
But it’s Danoz Direct Day becuse there’s more…
Bacchus Harsh will be playing a FREE show upstairs at 1am.
The Tote.
Good floors. Good bands. Good times.

So… someone forgot that those maniacs from N-Zed DARTZ! are playing for FREE at the Tote for Dole Night tonight with GLEN!
This mysterious someone also forgot that the State of Origin was on until he got 30 messages this morning saying “Hey, idiot! Are we watching the State of Origin at the Tote?”
The answer is YES.
We’re gunna pull the big screen out on the front bar and get all sporty.
DARTZ!, State of Origin, Tote!
What could make it any better?
Well, you can’t have sports or f**king unreal bands from New Zealand without appropriate foods we’re also having a BBQ Bartertown!
But since “someone” also forgot to order the meat at the Market on Sunday we’ve had to do a mercy dash to Costco to purchase a heap of bratwurst, assorted hot dogs and all the gear for a sporting display of delicious foods.
Plus we’ve got a heap of pickles, onions, peppers, cream cheese, cheese and all the sauces for you to adorn your choice of tubed meat.
Plus Costco had something called a Filipino Hot Dog.
We don’t know what they are but we got them!
They’ve got 4 black pinstriped lines down them and look like they’re going to go down a treat.
All we know is they’re Tasty & Juicy.
So, come down for free DARTZ!, Glen, big screen State of Origin and delicious sausaged meats in rolls.
It will be delicious.
And just to prove the point of how forgetful “someone” is… the Costco Birthday Cake?
How could “someone” write the entire social media post and not mention it.
Well, we got that for DARTZ! because they’ve been tearing around Europe having a good time and we though a bit of a celebration cake was in order.
It will be available for free in the Front Bar.
F**k yeah.

Shane here…
We have a massive announcement.
On April 13th 2024 the Kremling’s will return after almost a decade in the wilderness!
I am beyond words.
But I’m going to try.
I’ve been dreaming of being in the same room listening to the Kremling’s play since the last time I was lucky enough to be doing that exact thing.
When Leanne asked me what bands I wanted because I’m turning old I said “the Kremling’s and Secret Headliner”
She said “Secret Headliner for sure but the Kremling’s? Don’t get upset”
But nothing ventured nothing gained.
So I asked.
And, being the amazing humans that they are, they somehow agreed.
I cried when they agreed.
Full tears.
I also did some stupid jump in the air power grab that must’ve looked absolutely ridiculous.
I’m absolutely honoured that they’re doing this.
I f**king love this band.
I can’t thank them enough.
Anyway, that’s it.
The Kremling’s on Saturday April 13th.
I don’t know if it will be there first show of a triumphant return or their last.
No idea.
But I will be at the front savouring every decibel.
If you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing them get on the band camp and have a listen to Whole Earth Cleansing.
It’ll knock your socks off.
The Kremling’s live is even better.
Tickets are available now through www.thetotehotel.com and I recommend getting one now.
Because when they said yes I had a thought of just having me, them and no one else in the room (for real) but I reckon Matt Radford would’ve killed me.
The lineup is spectacular.
Get around it.
Thank you Andre, Dave, Jesse, Josh & Taylor.
F**king legends.
Best birthday present ever.
PS: I somehow kept that sticker on that cupboard for a decade now… quality.

16/03/2024

In our archaeological dig this week at the Tote our very own Tony Robinson (aka Joe Geezer) found this ancient nang under about 20 years of debris…
Which is kind of fitting since we’re charged as for an excellent Saturday full of the best music Melbourne has to offer.
This afternoon for free in the Front Bar we’ve got Clotheslined (who go hard as if you haven’t seen them… our personal “you have to check’em out” recommendation for the week) with Tongue Biter (who go just as hard)
Then upstairs from 830pm we have an absolute ripsnorter of an evening with Antenna, Cutters & Gutter Pig!
Blimey!
How good is that?
Tickets are just $25 on the door and it’s going g to go off.
Then (as if things couldn’t get any better) we’ve got Dr Sures Unusual Practice in the band room!
Seriously… surely you can understand why we’re whipped into a frenzy about our day!
And the cream on top?
Joining Dr Sures will be Screensaver, It Thing & O.M.R.
Tickets are available on the door from 8pm for $30.
Now you’d think that’d be enough.
Well it’s not.
From 1am Upstairs we’ve got Boiling Hot Politician calling in for a little bit of early morning ear delight.
Entry is free.
Saturdays at the Tote.
They’re packed as.

Shane’s turning 40.
Which isn’t too bad considering he doesn’t look a day under 53.
So, we thought it’d be a good idea to nick a show that another venue hosts every year because we’re pretty devoid of original ideas…
Sorry Last Chance!
But who wants to deal with that idiot anyway?
It’s FORTYPALOOZA!
A Shane & Matthias’s Birthdaypalooza Spectacular.
Featuring a Secret Headliner (if you can’t work out who it is we’re not giving any hints… it should be pretty obvious), a Super Secret Support (no one’s gunna believe it… people are going to s**t when they find out who this is… it’s very exciting) plus Jaded, S***k, Hot Machine, Public House, Speccy and Collingwood’s Number One Everything DJ Patrick Emmett!
And there’s going to be a lamb on a spit… because why not?
Trust us when we say you’re going to want a ticket to this show.
It’s an absolutely stacked lineup…
The “secrets” are amazing as well.
Shane’s two favourite bands.
Pre-sales are just $30 + BF which is ridiculous considering all the amazing bands.
Seriously… get a ticket.
It will sell out.
Hit www.thetotehotel.com now and make sure you don’t miss out.
